MATS 2017 – UTECH Visits Kentucky for “Largest Trucking Event in World”

As spring starts to rear hits’ head, everyone is excited to embrace the warmer weather, to see the flowers blooming, and to cheer on their beloved Cardinals or Wildcats college basketball team… well, maybe if you live in Louisville, KY. When most people think of large events in Louisville during the months of March-May, you typically think of hard-fought basketball games or the beloved Kentucky Derby. But to us, the “must see” event of the spring season in Louisville, KY was a trucking show. UTECH Corp was honored to be apart of the 2017 Mid-America Trucking Show 2 weekends ago, from March 23-25! This was our first time to attend the MATS as a vendor, and our experience was wonderful. The Kentucky Expo Center was an excellent venue, able to accommodate an impressive amount of people and trucks. Over the course of the 3-day event, we were able to connect with industry leaders, experienced business owners, and many hard-working independent truck drivers. The expertise and innovation was on full display – and speaking of display, there was even a truck beauty contest this year. The educational sessions were very informative and the products on display were a testament to the growing trucking industry. The MATS started in 1972 and just celebrated its 46^th annual show. Numbers have grown year after year, and 2017 boasted some impressive numbers and benchmarks for the MATS:

• 72,271 attendees visited the MATS floor, the 15^th year in a row that MATS has hosted over 70,000 attendees
• All 50 states and 67 other countries were represented at the show
• 1,012 vendors and exhibiting companies, representing 47 states and 12 countries

The FMCSA regulations were on everyone’s mind this year, with new changes coming to the industry with ELD devices. UTECH Corp was proud to display one of their products, GPSTab, at the event. This GPS tracking software will prepare truck drivers and fleet owners for the upcoming FMCSA ELD guidelines and rules.
