10 Best Snacks for When You Are On the Road
When driving long distances on the road, you probably see plenty of fast food restaurants along the way. Do you ever stop by a McDonalds, Burger King, or Taco bell?
Not only are most fast food options full of empty calories, they also lead to health conditions and sleepiness, something you don’t need when you are driving. When you’re sleepy, you tend to reach for poor choices as well. Think of it as the feeling you get after you eat a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
Here are 10 quick, healthy snacks, that you can grab on the go. They don’t require cooking, nor do they require a freezer to stay fresh. If you choose one of these snacks on your next drive, you might just see the difference in how you feel almost immediately.
1. Fruit with Nut Butter
Try the classic snack: apples and peanut butter. Peanut butter has about 8 grams of protein per serving, which is ideal for a snack. Almond butter is a great alternative as well. Just make sure you search for little to no sugar so you don’t crash.
